Scientist Toxicologic Clinical Pathology
Tasks & responsibilities
- In your role as study clinical pathologist, evaluate clinical pathology data sets on early exploratory and regulatory toxicity studies, and provide input on study design and integrated reporting
- Scientific review of clinical pathology reports generated by contract partner organizations
- Supervise or perform microscopic examination of hematologic and/or cytologic specimens, including blood and bone marrow from laboratory animal species
- Provide technical guidance to clinical pathology laboratory personnel in compliance with GLP, company safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop new technologies and strategies, which help to elucidate mechanisms of toxicity
- Collaborate with a diverse team of medical technologists, anatomic pathologists, biomarker scientist, immunologists, and toxicologists to explore mechanism of toxicity of new therapeutics
- Establish and maintain a network with other Boehringer Ingelheim sites, academia, and industry to achieve optimum investigative strategies and scientific results
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), a PhD is a plus
- Board certified ECVCP or ACVCP or similar postgraduate specialization in the field of clinical pathology
- Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or contract research organization is preferred
- Scientific and technical experience in special clinical pathology techniques (e.g. biomarker development and validation, coagulation, image analysis) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, written and verbally. German language is a plus
- Open-minded personality and strong team player
- Strong scientific interest and analytical capacity, target- and strategy-oriented work attitude
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and integrity and strong commitment to quality
