Scientist - Downstream Process Modelling

Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will perform and advance in silico downstream process development to bring innovative therapeutic drugs to patients.
- Furthermore, you will support project teams in an interdisciplinary matrix organization using mechanistic process modeling and other modeling and simulation tools.
- Moreover, you will drive innovation within our modeling team towards optimization of our in silico tools and their implementation.
- You will be the principal investigator for technology projects including scientific supervision of students and/or technical staff, planning, execution, and implementation.
- With your in-depth knowledge, you will deliver high-quality data and results including excellent communication and presentation to stakeholders e.g. project teams and line management.
- In addition, you will actively contribute to shaping the team’s capabilities, while fostering a collaborative group culture and strengthening interfaces with both internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biotechnology, biophysics, biochemistry or a similar field with many years of professional experience, PhD degree is preferable
- In-depth knowledge on the downstream processing of therapeutic proteins, including complex formats
- Experience with software tools for the mechanistic modeling of downstream processes, e.g. CADET or GoSilico modeling software
- Expert knowledge on molecular modeling and/or quantitative structure-property relationships
- Experience with plant-modeling tools for biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities e.g. INOSIM beneficial
- Good leadership skills and ability to influence in multi-disciplinary teams, proactively collaborating and self-organizing to develop innovative solutions, with a proven record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Excellent oral as well as scientific and technical writing and documentation competencies in English
