Professional Automation Engineer
The Position
We are looking for a Professional Automation Engineer to join our Building & Infrastructure Automation team in Biberach. In this role, you will lead and support automation projects,
driving the digitalization of our building infrastructure. Your expertise in building automation systems will play a key role in optimizing our facilities and operations.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- You will lead or contribute to small, medium, and major CAPEX projects in building and infrastructure automation, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- You will manage project specifications and execution processes, including handling changes, optimizations, and troubleshooting, while providing 2nd level support to maintain operational excellence.
- Acting as the central contact for building and infrastructure automation matters in both GxP and Non-GxP environments, you will foster collaboration and consistency across projects.
- Furthermore, you will share knowledge across the organization, promoting best practices to enhance efficiency, reliability, and innovation in automation processes.
- To ensure compliance with legal regulations, internal standards, and industry benchmarks, you will oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- You will facilitate the procurement, integration, and commissioning of automation suppliers for HVAC systems, package units, Clean Utilities, and Black Media systems, ensuring seamless implementation.
- Finally, you will ensure data integrity, IT/OT security, and effective supervision of external service providers to maintain high-quality standards and secure operations.
Requirements
- Master’s or Diploma degree in automation technology, IT, electrical engineering, or similar with several years of professional experience in engineering and automation; Bachelor’s with extensive experience will also be considered
- Experience in technical documentation and overseeing inventor documentation, as well as in validation in such system incl. documentation
- Expertise in building automation and SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens Desigo, Siemens WinCC, COPADATA Zenon Logic, iFix-proficy, Siemens Simatic PLC S7-300 / S7-1500)
- Strong understanding of building/infrastructure technology, environmental monitoring systems, and protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
- Proven project management skills, ideally with agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of VDI 3814, AMEV regulations, HVAC planning, IT (Active Directory), and network integration.
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills, reliability, and fluency in German and English.
