Principal Scientist
The Position
Become part of an interdisciplinary team in an international environment and use state-of-the-art technologies to discover new active substances and gain a deep understanding of their mechanisms of action. As a Principal Scientist in in vivo pharmacology, you will drive innovative research projects that sustainably improve patients’ lives.
This position can be performed in a hybrid working model with approximately 4 days per week on site.
Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will assume professional and disciplinary leadership of a technical team to ensure efficient and high-quality execution of preclinical studies.
- You will lead cross-functional project teams for the development and implementation of innovative strategies in the field of immunology and respiratory diseases.
- In addition, you will take part on the role of In Vivo Lead in cross-functional project teams, closely coordinating with internal partners and being responsible for the development and implementation of the in vivo pharmacology strategy to successfully transfer new therapeutic concepts from preclinical to clinical phases.
- You will also develop and implement translational in vivo strategies to successfully advance preclinical projects into clinical development.
- Furthermore, you will be scientifically responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating complex in vivo studies, including the interpretation of pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic data.
- You will also work closely with internal and external partners to ensure scientific excellence.
- Moreover, you will represent Immunology & Respiratory in internal initiatives as well as working and focus groups, working closely with colleagues from other departments.
- As a Principal Scientist you will act with a high degree of personal responsibility and serve as a recognized expert both internally and externally and advise other scientists and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Doctorate (PhD) in Biology, Pharmacology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Profound knowledge in in vivo pharmacology
- Several years of experience in leading technical staff
- Initial experience as a project leader in preclinical research is an advantage
- Experience working within a matrix organization
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively both internally and externally
- Fluent English skills (spoken and written), intermediate German knowledge
