Postdoc Digitalization in Quality Control Biologicals

The Position

Join us in shaping the future of Quality Control (QC) for biological drug products by driving digitalization, automation, and data-driven methodologies in a highly innovative environment. Based at our global development headquarters in Biberach, you will contribute to transforming Quality Control Biologicals through the development and implementation of advanced digital solutions while addressing cutting-edge scientific challenges in analytics.

This role combines scientific excellence and process understanding with the opportunity to implement digital workflows, AI-based data analysis approaches, and automation concepts to enhance laboratory/ process efficiency, robustness, and compliance. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary experts across analytics, engineering, data science, and IT.

This position is part time eligible with 80 %.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • You will drive digital transformation initiatives within QC Biologicals, with a strong focus on automation, data integration, and optimization of laboratory workflows.
  • You will develop and implement innovative digital solutions to enhance efficiency, strengthen data integrity, and simplify processes (e.g. automated workflows, data flows, reporting, and dashboard creation).
  • Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will collaborate with analytics experts, process specialists, IT, and data science teams to deliver impactful solutions.
  • You will present project outcomes to internal and external audiences, including contributions to scientific publications and conferences.

Additional tasks for one of the positions offered

  • In this role, you will design and execute cutting-edge research projects in the field of particle analytics and advanced microscopy.
  • You will further develop AI-based image analysis and classification approaches to advance microscopic methods and data interpretation.

Requirements

  • PhD in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, bioanalytics, data science, bioinformatics, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in digitalization, automation, or data science (e.g. Python, AI/ML)
  • Background in analytics for biological products is desirable
  • Knowledge of particle analytics is advantageous (for one of the positions offered)
  • Understanding of GMP requirements and data integrity principles is considered a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and in interdisciplinary teams
  • Fluent in English; advanced German language skills required
