The Position

Shape the future of therapeutic innovation with next‑generation histopathology!

Join a cutting-edge research team advancing drug target and therapeutic concept validation through advanced histopathology. As a Postdoctoral Scientist, you will establish IHC- and IF- based readouts to characterize novel targets, assess their translation in disease-relevant animal models as well as ex-vivo/in-vitro models and gain mechanistic insight into novel therapeutic concepts in early research. This role offers the opportunity to join a team of pathology and AI specialists and to collaborate with multidisciplinary experts that contribute to transformative approaches in drug discovery within a dynamic pharmaceutical research environment.

Ready to push the boundaries of science? Apply now and become part of our innovation-driven team!

 Tasks & responsibilities

  •  In your new role, you will establish, optimize and validate workflows to enable automated, large-scale histopathology readouts in disease-relevant in vivo and in vitro models.
  •  In this context, you will combine these methods with quantitative and AI-based image analysis to increase sensitivity, supporting model selection and treatment efficacy readouts.
  • You will select, test and qualify antibodies to enable single- or multiplex tissue stains in combination with ISH across species.
  • While your focus will be on cardiovascular and metabolic indications, your role will encompass a diverse range of therapeutic area
  • You will work in a multidisciplinary and international team of scientists
  • Moreover, you will be part of Boehringer’s global postdoctoral program and will have the opportunity to showcase your research at various internal and external scientific meetings.
