Post Doc - Pathology

The Position

Within the department Global Nonclinical Safety & DMPK, the Group Pathology located at the Biberach site, is looking for a Post Doc. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about contributing to scientific and technical advancements in the realm of digital pathology and AI within toxicologic pathology. By joining our highly motivated team, you will also be able to engage in our daily study- and project-related activities. 
 
This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will develop AI applications to detect and/or quantify frequently encountered toxicity effects on digitized H&E- and immunohistochemistry-stained histology slides.
  • In addition, you will contribute to the development of AI applications on transmission electron microscopy photographs.
  • You will generate working instructions for our AI software and contribute to the training of laboratory personnel in using these tools.
  • Furthermore, you will develop rules for the creation and use of training, validation and test data sets in the sense of a fit-for-purpose validation of AI applications.
  • For the above, you will perform literature research and contribute to the further evolution of our global digitalization strategy within toxicological pathology.
  • Additionally, you will accompany our pathology team and contribute to our daily study- and project-related work.


Requirements

  • Degree in veterinary medicine and Ph.D. in the area of veterinary pathology or related field
  • Experience in immunohistochemistry and/or transmission electron microscopy evaluation highly desirable
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to familiarize rapidly with image analysis software utilizing AI 
  • Experience in histopathology of laboratory animal species is a plus
  • Strong communication and team player skills, with a high sense of accountability
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
