Post Doc - Downstream Development

The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative Post-Doc to join the Downstream Development group of Launch and Innovation department at Boehringer Ingelheim in Biberach. Our group uses state of the art technologies for downstream process development of various antibody formats.
The Post-Doc project will involve investigating new technologies (include artificial intelligence tools) that facilitate data-based development predictions for downstream processing. This work will interface with other in-silico platforms projects initiated in development.
 
This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • As Principal Investigator of innovation projects, you will combine advanced mechanistic and statistical modelling approaches with bioengineering knowledge to create digital process development products and analysis.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for the supervision, steering and cross-project communication of your project. 
  • With your strong communication skills, you will be the representative at project related interfaces and customers.
  • You will act as mentor and supervisor for Bachelor and Master studentsduring their projects. 
  • Furthermore, you will publish your results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and/or present your work at international conferences.
 
 

Requirements

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, (Bio-)Process Engineering, Biotechnology or related fields
  • Experience in machine-learning, in-silico process design and/or in mathematical modelling (e.g. MATLAB, Phyton based, artificial intelligence) of bioprocesses data 
  • A proactive and well-organized working manner, excellent organizational skills and the ability to respond to changing priorities and short lead times for multiple tasks
  • Inspiring mindset and strong in working within existing teams as well as forming and establishing new teams and collaborations
  • Excellent communication skills as well as sound technical writing and documentation competencies in English, a solid communication in German would be a plus
