The Position

As Head of Experimental Medicine Medical Writing, you will lead a global function at the forefront of scientific innovation, turning complex data into compelling narratives that inspire trust and drive faster decisions. As part of the Experimental Medicine Clinical Operations organisation, you will work together with the leadership to shape world class delivery from candidate selection to proof of concept.

This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach
 
This position is part time eligible with 80%.

 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will define a bold vision for Medical Writing excellence, simplifying processes, sharpening scientific focus, and accelerating clinical development across all therapeutic areas.
  • Furthermore, you will build and empower a world-class team, fostering an environment of creativity, collaboration, and scientific rigor where talent thrives and innovation flourishes.
  • You will champion scientific storytelling, ensuring that holistic evidence reaches investigators, regulators, payers, patients, and caregivers to meet their unique needs.
  • Moreover, you will lead innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies—including AI—to revolutionize medical writing, reduce trial timelines, and uphold the highest standards of quality and integrity.
  • You will drive strategic impact, overseeing resource deployment, capacity planning, and financial stewardship to support global clinical programs with agility and excellence.
  • Additionally, you will set new benchmarks for compliance and continuous improvement, aligning seamlessly with corporate functions and external partners to deliver transformative science faster.

 

Requirements  

  • MD or PhD and a strong background in clinical development within a global context with proven leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep expertise in authoring and overseeing critical clinical and regulatory documents (e.g., study protocols, CTD submissions, investigator brochures).
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive innovation, digital transformation, and process integration across complex, global environments.
  • Ability to create, manage and cultivate change.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams, with a focus on talent development and organizational growth.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex scientific content to diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of vendor management, outsourcing best practices, and the ability to influence external partners for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and change management skills, with a track record of fostering collaboration and navigating organizational transformation.
