This position has a hybrid setup with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will lead your team by providing clear directions, prioritizing tasks and developing strategies.
- Furthermore, you will contribute to the Quality Control Leadership Team by making continuous improvements, strengthening the team's impact across the development value chain, and leading project-related initiatives.
- You will also Initiate and lead innovation projects by identifying strategic needs in the organization
- In addition, you will develop and maintain solid microbial and virus-safety strategies.
- You will actively contribute and influence the scientific and regulatory community by representing Boehringer Ingelheim at conferences and in industry consortia
- Finally, you will shape the microbiology network within Boehringer Ingelheim and ensure seamless interfaces.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Virology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Biology or Biochemistry, or a related quantitative scientific discipline
- Strong scientific expertise in microbiology and virology, with a proven ability to apply knowledge in a research and development environment
- In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to microbiology and virology
- Solid knowledge of Novel Biological Entity (NBE) development principles, processes, and associated requirements
- Passion for innovation and emerging technologies, particularly in the detection, characterization, and monitoring of viruses and microorganisms
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, supported by a strong professional network
