Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will drive and shape category strategies in the exciting field of Bio Pharmaceutical Production Equipment. This includes Up- and Downstream Equipment, Lyophilisation, and more. As part of the Global Category Engineering, Construction and Equipment team, your work will align with our global sourcing and business strategy.
  • In major CapEx projects you will purchase Bio Pharmaceutical Production Equipment. This will involve preparing bidding lists, leading tendering procedures, heading contractual negotiations, and managing contracts.
  • With your expertise, you will also support the Global Category Head, implementing Sourcing excellence in CapEx projects. You will uphold global governance principles for major investment projects, ensuring the highest standards are met.
  • In alignment with our internal business partners, you will develop long-term strategies with local and global preferred suppliers, foster cross-functional collaboration and implement identified cost-saving opportunities.
  • Moreover, you will be responsible for the strategic supplier management in your category. This includes evaluating, classifying, and developing suppliers to ensure quality and optimize partnerships.
  • You will work within a project team across categories, embedded in a matrix organization. Your ability to build effective internal business partner relationships will be key in identifying saving potentials and delivering the best Sourcing value to Boehringer Ingelheim.

Requirements

  • Diploma or master’s degree in business administration, or engineering 

  • Several years professional experience in contracting/ sourcing /purchasing in local and/or international markets
  • Strong project-management skills in complex invest project and very good knowledge of the market for technical equipment and/or plant engineering
  • Profound legal expertise in contract law (German law of obligations) 
  • Global and intercultural working experience, ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, change management and leadership skills
  • A very good command of English and German
