This position is located in Berlin.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and execute a public and government affairs strategy for Animal Health Germany including criteria to identify and address the most relevant political stakeholders.
- Anticipate, monitor and assess the impact of relevant legislative and policy developments at Federal level affecting our Animal Health business, and proactively identify and address opportunities for Boehringer Ingelheim.
- Ensure timely information and reporting to relevant company functions, and develop adequate Public Affairs activities to advance Boehringer Ingelheim's business interests with political stakeholders (Federal Government, German Bundestag, other key influencers at Federal level).
- Represent Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health in relevant external meetings and conferences.
- Drive and/or contribute to policy discussions in trade associations and internal/external stakeholder groups.
- Support senior management with briefings and background notes, speeches and policy statements.
Requirements
- University Master’s degree (e.g. MBA, MSc) or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (such as Law or Politics)
- Sound and proven experience in a German and/or EU policy role, with a public affairs consultancy, trade association, in an international corporate setting or in Government institutions, ideally with a focus on animal health-related topics
- Profound understanding of the policy-making process at German Federal level (including the internal procedures of the Government, Bundestag and Bundesrat)
- Excellent writing skills, ability to simplify complex topics, communicating clearly, working across functions, and building strong internal and external networks; autonomous, structured, and resultsoriented with highly developed analytical skills
- Trustworthy and outgoing personality with solid negotiation skills, customer and stakeholder focus, and a proactive, curious mindset
- Perfect command of spoken and written German as well as fluency in English is a requirement
