IT O&L Liaison

THE POSITION

The IT O&L Liaison Italy will help represent the IT O&L function at the Bidachem and Noventa manufacturing sites, acting as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT to ensure that site-specific demands and needs are met in line with expectations and strategic investments. This role is pivotal in supporting the digital transformation journey of both sites, with a strong focus on the investment programs, which aims to elevate the site’s digitalization and integration with global solutions. The person will foster a culture of innovation, proactively engage with business partners, and ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of these very important locations in the Boehringer Ingelheim network.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary IT interface for the site leadership communities, ensuring alignment between business needs and IT solutions.
  • Lead, develop, and coach other IT professionals, promoting organizational flexibility, diversity, and continuous growth.
  • Drive the execution of digital initiatives, especially those related to the S4G program, ensuring successful delivery and integration with global platforms.
  • Proactively communicate with business stakeholders to anticipate site needs and potential challenges.
  • Oversee compliance of IT processes and services with internal and external regulations, including GxP, legal, and corporate standards.
  • Will help to manage the IT budget and resources for the site and area of responsibility, ensuring optimal allocation and performance.
  • Continuously monitor the market for innovative technologies and practices, proposing proof-of-concept (PoC) projects that support the site’s future sustainability.
  • Represent the sites in global IT forums and collaborate with other IT and business functions to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Business Engineering, or Automation.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in working with senior management within Business and IT.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT systems and proven experience managing technologies such as Windows and Terminal Server, databases (Oracle, SQL), and software (Java, antivirus, backup, and monitoring tools).
  • Strong knowledge and experience providing IT subject matter expertise, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biopharma, or chemical industries, including compliance, validation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Fluent in both English and Italian.
  • Experience designing and operating IT organizations at both global and local levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership in digital transformation projects, ideally in a manufacturing or supply chain context.
  • Proactive communicator, able to anticipate and address business needs and challenges.
  • Passion for innovation, with a track record of identifying and implementing new technologies or processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual and multicultural environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Cost-conscious, with a focus on economic orientation and sustainability.
  • Experience managing budgets and leading teams through change.
