The Principal Specialist, Digital partners with Barceloneta Site Leadership team to foster a culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement by delivering integrated strategic digital initiatives. This role steers digital initiative definition, execution, and realization of the site’s synchronized digitalization strategy. The position holder is the primary point of contact/link between site operations and global project teams to ensure initiatives are prioritized, synchronized with site objectives, and benefits realized. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are executed on time, meet specifications, and contribute to the strategic evolution and continuous improvement of the Barceloneta site.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for steering the organization’s digital transformation initiatives and spearheading the management, delivery, and support of various automated systems, including Business Intelligence (BI), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Process Automation Systems (PAS), SAP, Immation, Vorne, and BAS within the production environment.
- Accountable as point of contact between site operations and global project teams to ensure initiatives and site stakeholder communication is prioritized, synchronized, and aligned. This includes developing comprehensive communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about project progress and changes.
- Liaisons with site stakeholders as needed to ensure alignment of project goals and subsequent expectations are managed.
- Value Generation – Ensures digitalization initiatives are fully integrated to drive value and align with the site strategics initiatives or continuous improvement commitments by improving process robustness, reducing production costs, improving yields, avoiding destructions, and/or significant improving the site sustainability road map.
Project Management:
- Leads the planning, execution, and delivery of digital transformation projects across the site.
- Ensures alignment with project timelines and compliance with specifications across both existing and new products.
- Monitors project performance and adjusts as necessary.
Communication & Coordination:
- Ensures ONE Source of truth related to all ongoing site initiatives.
- By establishing and maintaining centralize digitalization thinking, liaisons to site leadership team to promote/steer initiatives, when interacting with global to represent the site (Voice of the costumer).
Knowledge Transfer:
- Steers site digitalization education of new technologies and related value generation.
- Through benchmarking or external partnering, articulates digitalization as an ally related to site performance, sustainability, innovation, and future ways of working.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Technology, Engineering).
- Minimum five (5) years Animal/ Human Health industry knowledge (e.g. Consulting, marketing/sales, product development, business development) including influencing or leading others.
- Must have experience with advanced digital solutions and change management methodologies consistent with steering a site transformation mindset.
- Ability to demonstrate project / program ROI results from previous experience.
- Persuasiveness and influence to successfully advise, facilitate, challenge, and build relationships as a trusted advisor with mid and senior executive levels.
- This is a high-profile position requiring a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated judgment and discretion to serve as a discussion partner on a broad range of management topics including sensitive issues.
- Project management experience and ability to oversee multiple projects running simultaneously and provide quality control and guidance on projects.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge strategic and operational thinking, translating strategy into operational tactics.
- Knowledge of change management tactics to create and communicate a vision of the future with the ability to drive for change and continuous improvement.
