The Associate Director, Site Asset Implementation provides technical expertise and executes the engineering aspects of capital expenditure projects at assigned sites within the "Supply4Growth - Asset Assessment Implementation Program." This role collaborates with global and local functions (Infrastructure, Automation, Maintenance, Real Estate, Process, CapEx, Qualification, EHS, Equipment, Operations, SCM / LCM, Quality, Sourcing, IT, etc.) to ensure successful project delivery, applying best practices and optimized solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Defines and implements the technical vision and strategy for engineering aspects at the site level within the Supply4Growth Site Asset Implementation Program.
- Adapts and implements program-level engineering standards, best practices, and design guidelines for the network, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives and company standards.
- Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies and engineering solutions to optimize project results.
- Monitors industry trends and benchmarks to ensure the technical approach remains competitive and effective.
- Contributes to the definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for GFE engineering performance, reporting regularly on progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Contributes to a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Project Execution and Management:
- Leads the technical scoping and definition of CapEx projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business and site requirements.
- Oversees or directly executes the development of detailed engineering designs, specifications, and construction packages for CapEx projects.
- Ensures successful and timely delivery of all engineering aspects of capital expenditure projects on site level.
- Manages and supports the selection and oversight of external engineering consultants and contractors for projects.
- Monitors project progress against schedule and budget for projects, identifying and mitigating potential delays or cost overruns related to engineering.
- Resolves technical conflicts and escalations at the site level.
- Contributes to the development and management of the CapEx budget for engineering activities.
- Facilitates effective communication and collaboration between relevant teams for projects.
Technical Leadership and Support:
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to project teams working.
- Leads technical risk assessments and develops mitigation strategies for projects.
- Participates in the technical review process for relevant project deliverables.
- Supports the development of proper documentation and handover of completed projects to operations and maintenance teams.
Process and Quality Improvement:
- Participates in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
- Contributes to continuous improvement in engineering processes and outcomes within the program.
- Provides feedback on engineering standards and best practices based on experience.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the scope of work.
- Participates in the implementation of lean principles and methodologies.
- Contributes to the development and execution of knowledge management strategy on site.
Compliance and Knowledge:
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and safety standards related.
- Participates in industry conferences and workshops to stay abreast of the latest technologies and trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably within Production, Management/Logistics/Engineering, Process or Mechanical Engineering or similar required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Deep understanding of relevant engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc.).
- Proven ability to manage complex capital expenditure projects from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, execution, and closeout.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams (Infrastructure, Automation, Maintenance, Real Estate, Process, CapEx, Qualification, EHS, Equipment).
- Ability to develop and implement long-term technical strategies aligned with program objectives.
- Analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience working with and managing teams across multiple global locations, understanding cultural nuances and adapting communication styles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks associated with projects.
- Experience leading and managing change within a complex organizational environment.
- Understanding of project financials, budgeting, and cost control.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Commitment to driving continuous improvement in engineering processes and outcomes.
- Proven ability to build, motivate, and manage high-performing engineering teams across multiple sites.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English
