Veeva Vault Technical Lead

The Veeva Vault Technical Lead is the organization’s leading platform expert on Veeva Vault. This is a hands-on role, with the individual actively working in the platform daily—designing, building, and maintaining configurations across Vault applications.

This role owns the Vault platform architecture end to end, drives alignment with the Veeva product roadmap, defines the target state for Vault usage across the organization, and translates business requirements into scalable, sustainable platform solutions.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable defining a three-year capability roadmap and troubleshooting lifecycle configurations in a sandbox environment. Business stakeholders across Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, and Commercial functions rely on this person as their primary Veeva Vault advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end Veeva Vault platform architecture across Vault applications.
  • Design, build, and maintain hands-on configurations (e.g., object model, lifecycles, workflows, security, integrations).
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable platform solutions.
  • Drive alignment with the Veeva product roadmap and define the target-state usage model for Vault.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year capability roadmap and prioritize platform enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues in sandbox and higher environments as needed.
  • Act as the primary Vault advisor to stakeholders across Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, and Commercial.
  • Establish platform standards and governance to ensure consistent, compliant configuration quality.
  • Provide technical leadership through documentation, coaching, and mentoring to grow internal Vault capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • A Minimum 6 years of experience
  • Strong hands-on experience delivering solutions on Veeva Vault, including configuration, security, workflows/lifecycles, and integrations.
  • Experience managing Vault environments and releases (e.g., configuration migration, deployment planning, validation-ready documentation).
  • Working knowledge of APIs, integration patterns, and data/query concepts used in Vault implementations.
  • Familiarity with regulated life sciences delivery (GxP/CSV) and designing solutions with auditability and compliance in mind.
  • Ability to translate business needs into target-state architecture, a clear roadmap, and a prioritized backlog.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including facilitating workshops, explaining trade-offs, and influencing decisions.
  • Leadership mindset with a strong sense of ownership, mentoring and coaching capabilities, cross-team collaboration, and structured problem-solving skills.
