Salesforce Solution Engineer

Boehringer Ingelheim leverages a large and extensive Salesforce.com (SFDC) landscape in a global multi-org ecosystem used by over 25,000 users across various integrated solutions such as Veeva CRM, Patient Support programs, Digital Marketing engagements, and custom applications for business operations.

As a Solution Engineer within the Salesforce Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, you will bring your technical skills and knowledge to facilitate requirement gathering, explore possible recommendations within the Salesforce technology and capabilities, deliver potential solutions via prototypes and proof of concepts, and facilitate adoption and usage of the Salesforce platform across Boehringer. It includes being involved in multiple projects and initiatives to digitalize business processes, engaging with key stakeholders across IT and business, and collaborating within the Salesforce CoE to improve processes and deliver value with the Salesforce platform.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Platform Leadership: Partner with IT teams and colleagues to provide functional and technical guidance and ensure successful implementation of projects and initiatives, including supporting the architectural design review of the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Technology & Innovation: Evaluate business needs and requirements, and recommend existing and/or emerging Salesforce technologies and tools to develop potential solutions for new development and/or enhancements, incorporating user experience and customer centric perspective to ensure that solutions are delivered to improve operational and process efficiency.
  • Solution Enablement: Develop solutions including prototypes, proof of concepts, and solution designs to leverage the functionalities and capabilities of the Salesforce platform. Build solutions to deliver business needs, drive adoption within the organization, and expand the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Delivery & Support: Collaborate with the Salesforce CoE team to facilitate and perform existing platform processes and activities (review, assess, deploy, and maintain). Identify and provide insights and improvement opportunities to the team.
  • Engineering Excellence: Facilitate and co-govern development standards, code quality, and best practices on the Salesforce platform.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • Proven experience as a Solution Engineer in the Salesforce ecosystem with in-depth understanding of the Salesforce technology and solutions, including effective use of low-code/no-code configuration and data integration implementation
  • Experienced in leading development teams and supervising solution delivery through different development methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, DevOps)
  • Proficient in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Agentforce
  • Proficient in Flow, Trigger, Apex, Lightning Web Component, Integration
  • Solution-oriented to resolve business and operational challenges efficiently with practical, innovative, and scalable solutions
  • Curious to learn and explore new technologies to solve business challenges and to exhibit critical and analytical approaches to support stakeholders in identifying possible Salesforce solutions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate clearly with different stakeholders on complex subjects
  • Effective presentation and alignment skills with functional and technical architects, developers, and business users
