IT Business Analyst - Finance

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance financial transparency for IT INF, with a focus on budget structures, unit costs, and cost allocation logic.
  • Support managers in understanding their budgets, cost drivers, and financial implications of operational decisions.
  • Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and explanations tailored to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Act closely with Controlling, and IT RGS to ensure alignment on financial processes and reporting for IT Infrastructure.
  • Alling with Project portfolio lead on financials with focus on infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of financial dashboards and reports.
  • Provide conceptual and financial input to dashboard developers (no technical dashboard‑building required).
  • Translate financial requirements into clear specifications for reporting teams.
  • Use and explain key financial and IT management tools, including Apptio, ServiceNow, and SAP.
  • Support colleagues and managers in interpreting data from these systems.
  • Ensure data consistency and support process improvements related to financial data flows.
  • Contribute to the IT INF Financial Expert Group and collaborate with senior management on financial topics.
  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear, structured, and accessible way.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across IT and Finance.

Requirements 

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in IT financial management, controlling, or IT cost transparency.
  • Experience working with IT organizations, ideally in infrastructure or shared services.
  • Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills.
  • Solid understanding of IT cost structures, unit costs, and service‑based charging.
  • Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure technologies
  • Ability to explain financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Apptio, ServiceNow, and SAP (FI/CO modules preferred).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Structured, proactive, and detail‑oriented working style.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and act as a bridge between Finance and IT.
