The Team Leader, Active Ingredient will bring experience as subject matter expert or senior technician in fermentation and will be responsible for a team to manufacture Boehringer Ingelheim vaccines. This role will drive continuous improvement and supervise the activities associated with the fermentation process for preparation of active ingredient vaccines. The candidate will strive for leadership responsibility and drive continuous improvement based on experience in commercial fermentation or bioprocessing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares the daily/weekly production schedule.
  • Oversees and ensures training and qualification of team members.
  • Reviews in process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner; maintains technical data and support documentation.
  • Initiates and facilitates root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions to address problems; escalates production flow disturbances.
  • Demonstrates a visible and tangible commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs and initiatives.
  • Assesses individual and team performance regarding continuous improvement.
  • Participates and provides support to site projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus minimum two to three (2-3) years in related field required.
  • Biology Degree, or related Science Degree or related field plus three to four (3-4) years’ experience in related field preferred.
  • Basic math skills, equipment/automation trouble shooting skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other database software systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.   


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
