Facility Superintendent

Provide facility management and oversight for the designated facility.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary point of contact for all facility related issues at the designated sites. Ensures all aspects and requirements of the maintenance and appearance are considered and addressed proactively, to include but not limited to maintenance and oversight of exterior/interior building finishes, grounds, parking lots, conference rooms and technology throughout the building.
- Ensures mechanical systems within the buildings are maintained to ensure reliability and continuous operation.
- Establishes applicable facility expense budget and manages expenses at or below agreed targets.
- Serve as project manager for capital and expense projects that are required to support the needs of the facility. Project scope, definition and schedule, design, estimating costs, budgeting, bidding, procuring and project implementation.
- Coordinate and manage both inside resources and outside services for general maintenance, testing, repairs, and inspections. Coordinate and manage obtaining quotes for contract work as needed.
- Ensures that internal and external resources are performing responsibilities following and practicing safe work practices.
Requirements
- High School diploma and a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience involving hands on and/or direct responsibility for the maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, with experience in HVAC, plumbing and lighting systems.
- Experience inclusive of five (5) years supervisory experience supporting a Maintenance organization, utilizing mechanical and facility background.
- A working knowledge of OSHA, building codes and environmental regulation is required to ensure compliance of powerhouse operations with the various governing bodies.
- Knowledgeable of all EPA compliance requirements of refrigeration management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Organizational skills in planning, goal setting, prioritizing project work and coordinating with operations.
- Ability to perform and document work using SAP, Trackwise and LOS computer systems.
- Four (4) to six (6) years Leadership and Project Management experience.
- Requires occasional lifting and carrying of material and supplies.
- Manual dexterity required to effectively operate equipment required to perform assigned duties.
- Must be capable of using all forms of PPE.
- Must be able to negotiate stairs.
- Must have visual acuity to safely perform assigned duties and maneuver within the facility. -Corrective lenses are permitted.
- Must have adequate near and distance vision to perform the job.
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Knowledge of Maintenance best practices, including but not limited to planning and scheduling, reliability centered maintenance, TPM, CMMS.
- Work may require Journeyman electrician certification including experience in power supply and control systems or other skilled trade in lieu of Journeyman electrician certification.
- Experience as a trainer in the HVACR or similar technical area is a plus.
- Familiarity with the GMP regulatory requirements of bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing or the food processing industry is desirable.
