THE OPPORTUNITY

As our Strategic Marketing Team Leader, you will be accountable for the strategic direction, performance, and operational execution of the Cardiovascular-Renal-Metabolism (CRM) Therapeutic Area (TA), in alignment with the regional MIDIc and Business Unit strategy.

Furthermore, you will lead with vision, empower your team, and drive innovation to ensure sustainable brand growth and market impact in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

 

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of Therapeutic Area CRM HP.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute the overall brand strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs, lifecycle priorities, and business objectives.
  • Lead the Integrated Customer Plan (ICP) process, launch readiness, and demand planning.
  • Act as a key connector across Medical, Market Access, Sales, and other functions to ensure a unified, customer-centric approach.
  • Drive operational excellence through One Team capabilities and shared accountability.
  • Lead the design and execution of integrated, data-driven customer journeys across all channels.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging, personalization, and engagement quality across digital and face-to-face touchpoints.
  • Use marketing analytics and customer insights to monitor brand performance, engagement, and market dynamics. Identify opportunities for optimization and adjust strategies to maximize impact.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality, compliant marketing content.
  • Foster innovation in communication, leveraging new platforms and formats to enhance reach and relevance.
  • Own the TA budget, including forecasting, resource allocation, and expense control.
  • Achieve defined financial targets and KPIs, and initiate corrective actions when needed.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and innovation and ensure development plans are in place.
  • Translate evolving healthcare trends into actionable strategies.
  • Influence pricing policy, access conditions, and stakeholder engagement to shape the external environment.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Business Administration, Business Analysis, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of strategic marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 3 years of people leadership experience.
  • Solid experience within Primary Care, Diabetes & Cardiovascular diseases.
  • Proven track record in omnichannel marketing and customer engagement.
  • Deep knowledge of the Dutch healthcare system. 
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch & English.
  • Familiarity with legal and compliance frameworks for pharmaceutical promotion.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of pricing/access dynamics.
  • Digitally savvy, with experience in BI tools (Veeva CRM, Adobe, etc.) and campaign platforms.
  • Certified to promote Human Pharma products in the Netherlands.
  • Ability to drive change and foster innovation to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • You can lead, coach and develop a team of high-performing individuals on their way to pursue our strategic objectives.
  • Strong in influence and persuasion abilities and a team-oriented outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to translate data into actionable insights.
