THE OPPORTUNITY

In this exciting role you will gain valuable sourcing experience in a complex and challenging environment. You will be responsible for the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium and Luxemburg - supplier’s market and will also support Regional projects within MIDI (7 Operating Units).

Due to further developments within our Sourcing team in Amsterdam, we are looking for an additional talented colleague (to grow) in the role of Sourcing Manager, with a focus on Commercial Indirect Spend (Marketing, Sales, Professional services and Facilities among others).

In this role, you will be responsible to implement Boehringer Ingelheim’s global sourcing strategy and to constantly optimize the local external spend and reduce costs. Besides, you will select and negotiate the best value for BI and finally contract and manage the supplier(s). You also get the freedom to study the market independently and identify new opportunities to bring value to BI’s business and optimize processes.

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Regional Head of Purchasing in Amsterdam

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the local NL, PT and BE business partners in their needs from the supplier’s market by performing scoping, tendering, bid analysis, negotiations, contracting and evaluations.
  • Implement sourcing strategies in areas like market intelligence, creative agencies, sales & media services, consultancy and further Indirect spend areas.
  • Optimize value add, risk management and contract harmonization.
  • Ensure that selecting, contracting and performance are compliant to valid guidelines.
  • Support Regional projects within our cluster of countries.
  • Communicate and manage change with the business partners.
  • Guide purchasing processes and constantly share knowledge and best practices.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 3-5 years of sourcing experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or FMCG.
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Business Administration or similar fields.
  • Experience in the sourcing of services is preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language is required – Dutch or French is a plus!
  • Good communication and relationship building skills.
  • Passion, agility and eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, well-organized, and attentive to detail.
  • Good team player, enjoy working in a dynamic environment and values cross-functional solid relationships.
  • Strong business partnering skills and an open mindset for continued improvement ideas!
