As our Controller Medicine in MIDI you will act as key finance business partner to Medicine and Clinical Operations. Besides, you will provide guidance on relevant financial topics, as well as coordinate and give directions for financial planning and budgeting. You will act as the interface to Corporate Medicine Controlling, to clarify open questions, agree on interpretation of guidelines and procedures and ad-hoc analyses.
This position is located in Amsterdam (MIDI Offices), reporting directly to the Head of Finance Human Pharma (HP) MIDI.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as finance business partner to the Medical Director, the Head of Clinical Operations and to other departments in Medicine within MIDI
- Provide timely, transparent, right-first-time management reporting and analysis related to financial performance
- Perform centralized activities of Medicine Controlling for MIDI countries with regards to month-end/year-end closing and planning cycles
- Implement Corporate Medicine Controlling strategies and processes and give guidance to countries to enable a consistent application of guidelines and procedures
- Support or lead MIDI-wide Controlling or cross/functional projects or participate in Corporate Controlling projects
- Drive continuous improvement of reports, processes and behaviors within Controlling and within Medicine
- Act as back-up for other Controlling areas and support MIDI countries on an ad-hoc basis.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM
- At least bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or equivalent
- Controlling experience including systems, processes and guidelines is required
- Finance experience (accounting, tax, treasury) strongly preferred
- Strong technical as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven performance approach and hands-on attitude combined with a critical and challenging mindset for effective and efficient business partnering
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial and reporting topics to senior management and non-finance experts
