Regional Medical Manager (MIDI)

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you looking for a new international challenge in which you can help making a difference to Oncology Disease patients across the MIDI region by building scientific relations and partnerships with key external stakeholders in different Operating Units (OPUs)?  As our Regional Medical Manager you will develop and lead the roll out of the medical strategy for designated oncology asset(s) across the region and play a key role in the execution of the plans in multiple countries with the implementation of regional/local activities.

Additionally, you will partner cross-functionally within the MIDI region, across countries and with the global team(s) for all relevant assets in the therapeutic area (TA) and externally by building scientific relations with different stakeholders.

This is a partially field-based role based in our office in Amsterdam and reports to the Medical Lead Oncology MIDI.

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, lead, coordinate and execute overall regional (MIDI) medical strategy for designated oncology asset(s) (Integrated Customer Plan (ICP), Medical Engagement plan, Publication plan).
  • Responsible for designated oncology asset(s) medical budget.
  • Initiate and manage medical/clinical/scientific/digital activities in support of the MIDI asset/TA strategy, in line with MIDI ICP.
  • Serve as a Regional Medical Manager for Oncology, responsible for the development and execution of plans, stakeholder engagement and launch preparedness across multiple OPUs under the scope of responsibility.
  • Spend around 50% of time customer facing with the aim to develop and maintain scientific relations /partnerships with key external stakeholders, health care professionals, organized customer groups in OPUs under the scope of responsibility and position Boehringer Ingelheim as a trusted (scientific) partner in healthcare.
  • Map the patient journey, gather scientific insights, identify gaps/opportunities and drive healthcare solutions.
  • Collaborate with organized customer groups to generate payer-relevant evidence to strengthen the value proposition for OPUs under own responsibility and in line with ICP.
  • Serve as an internal medical and scientific expert for designated asset(s) and disease-related content for the Asset Team members.
  • Keep track of the latest insights within the relevant therapeutic area (e.g. literature, congresses) and inform other relevant stakeholders accordingly.
  • Initiate and manage therapeutic area and product training (e.g. for Medical team, Asset team members and other functions) & drive TA content in onboarding materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with Asset Team members, Medical Affairs functions and other departments, including Marketing, Market Access, RWE Team, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance within corporate, MIDIc and OPUs.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Master or doctoral degree in Medicine, pharmacy/pharmacology, life science, chemistry or similar.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including experience in an in-field medical position.
  • Country level experience in the therapeutic area of Oncology is a must.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Dutch healthcare system.
  • Previous international experience within European markets is preferred.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch & English languages. French is a plus!
  • Strong passion and capability to create value and impact in the Therapeutic Area ecosystems with Patient and Customer centric attitude.
  • Strong social skills and ability to establish internal/external interpersonal relationship and work in cross functional teams.
  • Digital savviness, ability to use multitude of channels in interactions with stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and experience with innovative ways of working and solutions.
  • Team-orientation with strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively and communicate confidently with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
  • Strong project & change management skills.
  • Results oriented, proactive & entrepreneurial.
