Field Technical Service Manager, Ruminants

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Field Technical Service Manager (Ruminants), you will be a trusted scientific & business partner for veterinarians, farmers, and internal teams, helping to advance animal health and welfare and farm performance through evidence-based solutions. Combining your veterinary expertise with a deep understanding of the livestock industry, you will provide technical leadership for our ruminant portfolio, translating science into practical recommendations that deliver value and commercial success for customers.

In this highly collaborative and field-based role, you will build strong relationships across the veterinary and agricultural community, support the successful adoption of innovative animal health (AH) solutions, and contribute to strategic portfolio decisions through your scientific insights.

Working closely with customers, colleagues, and industry experts, you will play an important role in improving animal health outcomes, strengthening customer partnerships, and driving sustainable business growth. You may also get the opportunity to contribute to international technical initiatives and collaborate with experts across our global Animal Health network.

This is a field position that will require frequent travelling in the Middle and South of the Netherlands and reports directly to the National Sales Manager AH NL. Therefore, living in the center or South of the Netherlands is preferred.

 HOW YOU’LL FIT IN:

  • Provide expert veterinary and technical support to veterinarians, farmers, and other customers through consultations, farm visits, presentations, diagnostic interpretation, and practical herd health recommendations.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams to drive the successful implementation of product strategies, translating scientific and production data into practical solutions that improve animal health and business outcomes.
  • Deliver technical training and education for both internal colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring a high level of product knowledge and evidence-based use of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including Key Opinion Leaders, veterinary professionals, and Livestock organizations, to support scientific exchange and portfolio growth.
  • Develop and communicate scientific and technical content, including presentations, technical bulletins, sales support materials, publications, and presentations at industry meetings and events.
  • Ensure scientific integrity and compliance, supporting pharmacovigilance activities, reviewing promotional materials for technical accuracy, and partnering with marketing, regulatory, and legal teams to ensure all communications meet applicable standards.

YOU BRING

  • Veterinarian Degree.
  • At least 5 years of technical, field sales or relevant work experience in the Animal Health Industry. At least 3 of the mentioned years need to be in Technical Services or practical Vet with a focus on herd health management.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English languages, along with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong multi task management  and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, make sound decisions, and negotiate effectively.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and a track record of driving innovation and adapting strategies based on data, research, and industry trends.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with agility to adjust both strategic and tactical tasks to drive commercial success in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly collaborative and results-driven, able to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organization and consistently exceed quantitative and qualitative goals with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Special interest in udderhealth, Infectious disease or small ruminants would beneficial.
