Demand Planning Manager (1 year contract)

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you ready to take on a key role in shaping supply chain performance across multiple countries and product categories? At Boehringer Ingelheim, we are looking for a Demand Planning Manager to join our MIDI (Mid-Sized Countries) team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will manage demand planning and supply replenishment activities for our Animal Health portfolio, ensuring product availability, optimized service levels, and efficient inventory management.

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of S&OP and Demand Management MIDI.

Please note that this is a temporary position with a fixed-term contract of 1 year.

HOW YOU’LL FIT IN

  • Prepare, plan and execute demand planning and supply replenishment for assigned SKUs and markets  to ensure compliant product supply to meet market demand in the OPUs and to avoid inventory destructions
  • Ensure inventory availability and alignment with planning variables (e.g., safety stocks, EOQ/EOC, version changes).
  • Ensure correctness of demand planning variables in case of VMI (e.g. min/max inventory levels).
  • Act as the single point of contact for manufacturing sites, CMOs, and global SNPM/Global CSCM.
  • Lead bottleneck management and coordinate supply issues with local S&OP and customer service teams.
  • Participate in S&OP cycles and collaborative forecasting with commercial and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Business partnering at MIDI level for assigned business segments.
  • Maintain accurate master data and support logistics preparation for product launches and changes.
  • Monitor and report on key KPIs such as CSL, DOIf, and destruction costs.

 

YOU BRING

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, with a focus on logistics or supply chain.
  • At least 2 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in demand/replenishment planning within pharma, OTC, FMCG, or animal health.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP APO, JDA, and Excel for data analysis and planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complexity across diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of problem solving capabilities and ability to identify/execute pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong ability to prioritize with a high sense of urgency.
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Certification in APICS is preferred.
