The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Area Business Manager (ABM) to spearhead Boehringer Ingelheim’s Animal Health operations in Algeria and Tunisia, based at Algiers. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for driving strategic growth, achieving financial objectives, and shaping the future of our business in a dynamic and evolving market.

As ABM, you will lead a talented team, oversee resource development, and ensure operational excellence in alignment with company’s global strategies and core values. Your influence will extend beyond internal operations—proactively engaging with the external environment to create opportunities for sustainable business development in a compliant and responsible manner.

The role reports to the Country Head Animal Health.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health business in Algeria and Tunisia to achieve strategic goals and financial objectives.
  • Oversee strategic development for the region, ensuring alignment with BI’s global strategies and SOPs.
  • Manage and plan resource development to sustain business results.
  • Drive commercial excellence and operational performance across all segments.
  • Influence the external environment responsibly, creating opportunities for growth in line with BI’s core values.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in all business activities.
  • Exhibit effective leadership behaviors and foster a high-performance culture within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or Life sciences.
  • Minimum 6+ years of leadership experience within multinational pharmaceuticals
  • Previous exprience within Animal Health is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of Animal Health with focus on Avian, Ruminants & Pets will be a plus.
  • Sound understanding of finance and budget management.
  • Basic technical/product knowledge and ability to interpret scientific data.
  • Strong people management and team leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English, French and Arabic (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and strategic planning capabilities.
