The Opportunity
 
We are looking for a Business Unit Head – Specialty & Rare Diseases (SRD), a pivotal role, based in Riyadh, reporting to the GM/Head of Human Pharma, SAGEA. As Business Unit Head – Specialty & Rare Diseases, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation, shaping strategy, and delivering excellence in one of the most dynamic markets. This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing team, influence regional priorities, and transform patient outcomes through bold leadership and visionary thinking.
Role & Responsibilities:
 
•    Lead the operational performance of assigned products and ensure flawless commercial execution in SAGEA the OPU.
•    Create and implement brand activation plans aligned with ROPU strategy, ensuring KPIs and MLR approvals are met.
•    Coordinate the local cross-functional brand team and oversee product launch readiness processes.
•    Design and optimize customer journeys across segments, ensuring a balanced mix of customer and non-customer facing channels.
•    Plan and organize sales cycles and training meetings in collaboration with brand teams to support ICE strategy objectives.
•    Achieve financial targets for the brand, including sales budget and market share performance, and initiate corrective actions when needed.
•    Control budgets and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
•    Provide strategic advisory services to support decision-making and maintain excellence in communication with external stakeholders.
 
Requirements
 
•    Degree in Pharmacy or biomedical discipline, Master’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing will be a plus.
•    7+ years of experience in commercial roles (Sales and Marketing) within the pharmaceutical industry 
•    5+ years of front-line leadership experience with a proven track record of building high-performance teams.
•    Proven experience in leading commercial operations and strategic brand management within Human Pharma.
•    Experience within the SAGEA region will be a plus.
•    Business fluent in English
•    Business fluent in Arabic will be a plus
•    Experience in developing and delivering commercial strategies across multiple markets.
•    Strong background in Key/Strategic Account Management and customer engagement.
•    Proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management.
•    Strong knowledge of Specialty and Rare Diseases and the broader pharmaceutical industry.
•    Strong entrepreneurial mindset, result-driven with the ability to drive top and bottom-line performance.
•    Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and deliver results in a matrix organization.
•    Demonstrated ability to think strategically, drive innovation, and lead change initiatives.
