Communications Manager SAGEA
Join our dynamic team at Boehringer Ingelheim Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries and East Africa (SAGEA) as a Communications Manager. In this role, you will create and implement comprehensive communications plan for the region in line with the regional strategy. This role involves managing and executing all communications campaigns, including brand and corporate communications, Human Pharma and Animal Health businesses.
A key part of this role is partnering with the General Manager and business functions within SAGEA to support business priorities. This includes addressing challenges, capitalizing on opportunities, and managing activities including internal and external communications. The Communications Manager will also work closely with the regional Corporate Affairs team and adapt announcements and regional campaigns to suit local markets.
The job is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and reports to the General Manager/Head of Human Pharma SAGEA and the Head of Corporate Affairs India, Middle East, Turkey and Africa (IMETA).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- External Communications:
- Develop announcements to support business objectives.
- Generate positive press about Boehringer Ingelheim, treatments and sustainability initiatives.
- Localize corporate and regional press announcements in line with local market priorities.
- Work closely with the public relations agency to achieve local market objectives.
- Regularly update regional communications assets with market relevant data.
- Manage the budget allocated by the regional communications team.
- Disease Awareness Campaigns:
- Localize and roll-out regional campaigns taking into considering market relevance and local culture on both internal and external channels including social media platforms.
- Develop campaigns for our leading position in development human and animal health treatments.
- Define, measure, and report KPIs for each campaign.
- Employee Communications:
- Support with internal employee communications including leadership communication.
- Maintain a regular flow of news and information to employees through different channels in line with business priorities and updates.
- Organize and lead on internal events and activities in line with the leadership’s priorities and the corporate affairs agenda.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Journalism and/or Marketing.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in Communications preferably within healthcare or in highly regulated industries.
- Experience in working in-house as a communications professional or in a communications agency in the Gulf region; experience in the Saudi market is a preference.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is a mandatory prerequisite.
