About the China Center of Chemistry (CoC)
The China Center of Chemistry (CoC) is a part of Boehringer Ingelheim's human pharmaceuticals organization, providing professional technical services to both internal and external customers of Boehringer Ingelheim:1) Offering technical support to the R&D department to accelerate the launch of new products. 2) Supporting the production department by continuously optimizing the processes of existing BI products to ensure market supply. 3) Managing suppliers within China, maintaining close communication with them, and providing technical support when necessary.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Peptide Synthesis Scientist to join our team and lead the development of peptide synthesis capabilities from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing peptide synthesis workflows using the latest technologies, and will play a critical role in establishing lab
infrastructure, protocols, and best practices. Experience in production or scale-up environments is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the setup and implementation of peptide synthesis platforms, including equipment selection and method development.
•Design and synthesize peptides using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) techniques, including Fmoc/t-Boc chemistry.
•Apply cutting-edge technologies and automation tools to improve synthesis efficiency and peptide quality.
•Purify and characterize peptides using HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-TOF, and other analytical techniques.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research, development, and production scale-up.
•Troubleshoot synthesis and purification challenges and implement effective solutions.
•Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, protocols, and results.
•Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Education and Experience Required:
•Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
•Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in peptide synthesis, preferably including lab setup or platform development.
•Familiarity with advanced peptide synthesis technologies and automation systems.
•Experience in production or scale-up environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
•Strong expertise in SPPS and peptide purification/characterization.
•Knowledge of peptide modifications (e.g., cyclization, PEGylation, labeling) is a plus.
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
