About the China Center of Chemistry (CoC)
The China Center of Chemistry (CoC) is a part of Boehringer Ingelheim's human pharmaceuticals organization, providing professional technical services to both internal and external customers of Boehringer Ingelheim:1) Offering technical support to the R&D department to accelerate the launch of new products. 2) Supporting the production department by continuously optimizing the processes of existing BI products to ensure market supply. 3) Managing suppliers within China, maintaining close communication with them, and providing technical support when necessary.

Over the past thirteen years, it has continuously innovated and pushed its boundaries, becoming a trusted expert in process development. It provides the R&D and production departments with cost-effective, high-quality, one-stop solutions.

 

Job Description:

  • Assist in the continuous improvement and enhancement of the department's biocatalysis platform.
  • Collaborate with laboratory researchers to complete experimental tasks.
  • Participate in the cooperation and discussions of the biocatalysis team to develop work plans.
  • Develop novel enzyme catalysts to jointly promote the progress of the biocatalysis platform within the department and the entire company.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and utilize modeling and molecular docking software to conduct rational enzyme design and directed evolution, improving enzyme catalytic performance.
  • Conduct literature research and summarization, and propose feasible solutions.
  • Organize projects reasonably, develop experimental plans, analyze experimental data, and draft relevant documentation and reports.
  • Learn and operate molecular biology laboratory instruments and related analytical equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and update standardized laboratory procedures.
  • Assist researchers in handling other daily tasks and ensure the laboratory adheres to 5S organizational standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in bioengineering, molecular biology, biochemical engineering, or related fields.
  • Familiar with and knowledgeable about gene cloning techniques, capable of performing molecular biology experiments, and skilled in enzyme modification or directed evolution using various methods.
  • Available to work at least 3 days per week.
  • Possess strong communication skills, a sense of responsibility, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficient in analyzing and solving problems, with excellent learning and knowledge-sharing abilities.
