Medical Advisor, CRM T2D

The Position

The Medical Advisor plays a critical role in shaping and executing the medical strategy for Boehringer Ingelheim’s Therapeutic Area (TA) portfolio in Vietnam. As a key member of the cross-functional team, the Medical Advisor leads the development and implementation of the Integrated Customer Plan (ICP) to support the objectives of the Integrated Brand Plan (IBP). This role ensures the delivery of scientifically sound, clinically relevant, and customer-focused initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and support business growth. Through strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and external experts, the Medical Advisor ensures that the right patients benefit from Boehringer Ingelheim’s innovations across the product lifecycle.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with TA Marketing Leads and Product Managers to lead the cross-functional development and execution of the Integrated Brand Plan (IBP), working closely with teams across marketing, sales, regulatory affairs, health outcomes and pricing, clinical operations, pharmacovigilance, and other relevant functions.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive medical affairs operational plan within the Integrated Customer Plan (ICP), incorporating structured customer-facing activities such as educational programs, product presentations, face-to-face meetings, train-the-trainer sessions, advisory board meetings, and scientific exchanges with regulatory and reimbursement authorities.
  • Establish and maintain deep medical expertise on relevant Boehringer Ingelheim products to effectively address both internal and external stakeholder needs.
  • Support the Medical Affairs Manager in coaching Therapeutic Area Medical Science Liaisons (TA MSLs) on external expert engagement principles (CEMM), including conducting field observations and providing feedback to enhance their effectiveness
  • Where applicable, support the generation and dissemination of scientifically relevant local data to strengthen the evidence base for Boehringer Ingelheim products.
  • Develop and sustain a robust, customer-centric digital engagement program and tools aligned with the overall TA strategy.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Medicine; PhD in any science course is preferred
  • If not a specialist in the assigned TA, must have at least 4 years of experience in TA Medical Affairs, either as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Associate Medical Advisor.
  • Strong industry and product knowledge experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in working closely with Therapeutic Area-responsible Regulatory Affairs and Therapeutic Area Brand Team
  • Experience in aligning and collaborating with Marketing, Sales, HP Operations and Market Access
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and communicate clearly
  • Leadership experience is preferred
