Head of Animal Health BU/Livestock Manager
The Position
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing and governing the Animal Health (AH) business in Indonesia, with a focus on commercial success and compliance excellence. You will lead the AH Business Unit, driving strategic growth and ensuring the achievement of financial targets including sales and profitability. The role requires strong governance, strategic planning, and operational execution aligned with Boehringer Ingelheim’s global standards and best practices.
You will be instrumental in delivering the Swine and Poultry strategy, managing sales and marketing activities, and ensuring sustainable business development in a dynamic and competitive market.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Achieve net sales and in-market sales targets with full P&L accountability over the long-term forecast (LTF) period
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate standards
- Develop and communicate short-, mid-, and long-term strategies for sustainable and profitable growth
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage agreements with business partners
- Provide strategic leadership to the Animal Health team in Indonesia
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in line with corporate standards
- Analyze market and sales data to inform strategic decisions and identify risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with distributors to execute business strategies and drive growth
- Engage key stakeholders and foster innovation to support business development
- Plan, manage, and develop departmental human resources, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews
- Ensure consistent execution of tactics and strategies, with accurate and timely reporting
- Respond to reporting requests from MSI or ROPU and ensure compliance with SOPs
- Lead and support strategic projects, including planning, risk assessment, and outcome evaluation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Share relevant market insights with MSI and ROPU and secure alignment from key partners
- Demonstrate effective negotiation, conflict resolution, and professional conduct
- Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes
- Deliver tailored compliance training and manage inquiries related to AH compliance
- Participate in compliance investigations, risk assessments, and committee meetings
- Implement and refine compliance controls as needed
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or a related field
- Over 8–10 years of experience in the Animal Health industry, with a strong track record of success
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, demonstrating effective team and business management
- In-depth knowledge of the veterinary and agricultural markets, particularly in poultry and related products
- Strong intercultural awareness and ability to work effectively in diverse environments
- Proven business and market acumen with a strategic mindset
- High learning agility and adaptability in dynamic market conditions
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Strong customer focus with advanced relationship management capabilities
- Solid understanding of governance principles and regulatory requirements at both global and local levels
