The Position
Healthcare Affairs Manager
- Leads the monitoring, interpretation and shaping of developments and gaps in healthcare policies and healthcare delivery for our current and future Human Pharma (HP) product portfolio
- Develops and executes Healthcare Affairs plans to proactively address care gaps and appropriately position Boehringer Ingelheim products for adoption and rationale use in clinical practice within the healthcare system
- Supports developing strategy, realisation, maintaining and enlargement of market access of the OPU's new products, line extensions and indications to create and maintain access of these products for the OPU healthcare consumer
- Builds and maintains internal relationships and relationships with relevant external partners needed for building strategy and execution
- Coordinates with the Head of Market Access & Healthcare Affairs (MAHA) as well as across functions including Medical Affairs and Marketing in the preparation of deliverables as described in Accountabilities
Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Healthcare Affairs strategic advice
- Develop deep insights into the relationships amongst stakeholders within the healthcare system
- Give strategic internal advice about realization, maintaining and enlargement of optimal market access with respect to reimbursement status, distribution contracts, outcomes research, guidelines and scientific positioning
2. Development and execution of Healthcare Affairs planning and activities
- Prepare, coordinate, guide and execute MAPOR policy to optimize pricing, realise reimbursement and (health) economic acceptation of products by government and medical profession (to realise maximal profit)
- Contribute to the development of partnerships with selected healthcare system stakeholders. Responsible for the execution of integrated healthcare solutions
- Support the demonstration of improved outcomes for patients and the healthcare system with Boehringer Ingelheim products and solutions to generate advocacy, support patient access and market development
- Key contributor to the development of Healthcare Affairs plans and ensuring they are appropriately reflected in ICPs. Participation and other cross-functional teams as required
- Active participation in relevant Industry Association sub-committees/working groups
3. Project Management
- Plan and execute activities which are essential to define projects, plan actions within projects and guarantee efficient execution conform given guidelines and procedures
- Budget management: agree with internal and/or external parties about kind, scope and costs of tasks and services which have to be delivered
4. Knowledge and information management, from Healthcare Affairs expertise:
- Inform / Advise, in demand and unasked
- Inform / Train
5. Relationship management, with web of stakeholders:
- Internally: ROPU / Corporate MAHA and relevant local functions / colleagues
- Externally: Governmental stakeholders, healthcare insurance companies, wholesalers, hospitals, knowledge centers, consultancies, guidelines stakeholders and external experts
Requirements:
Minimum Education/Degree Requirements:
- University Degree: Pharmaceutical Science or Healthcare Sciences
- Major focus: Marketing, Pharmacology and/or Medicine
Capabilities required:
- Minimal 5 years of experience in the similar role in the pharmaceuticals industry
