EHS, Summer Intern 2025
Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our EHS department located at our Fremont, CA, facility. As an Intern, you will support the EHS Team in various tasks and projects aimed at promoting a safe and compliant work environment. The EHS Co-Op student will have the unique opportunity to work in an office setting, lab setting, and manufacturing plant floor. Additionally, this role will participate in environmental sustainability initiatives as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides support for the Health, Safety and Environment Team to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with government regulations and company procedures.
- Conduct EHS Assessments (JHA, Risk Assessments for new equipment/processes/ergonomics, Safety Inspections/GEMBA Walks)
- Perform trends and patterns analysis of incident/injury data
- Develop and lead EHS training
- Complete EHS project work as assigned
Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Working knowledge of computer applications required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Conducting risk assessments (JHA, Ergonomics, Root Cause Analysis)
- Knowledge of basic Heal and Safety Standards (OSHA, Cal/OSHA)
- Experience in laboratory, manufacturing or construction environments
- Basic chemistry knowledge to perform chemical approvals and Hazardous Materials Inventory Management
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
