Technician, Warehouse

Under general supervision, the Technician Warehouse provides accurate and efficient material support to include, but not limited to material handling, shipping, receiving, delivery, storing, loading and unloading of ambient, cold and frozen product, forklift operation, recyclable materials, waste handling, cycle counts, inventory transacting and any other duty, request, project or directive as required by the company or any of its departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates the inventory management and control systems, to receive, supply, transfer, take inventory, record cycle counts and store materials and/or products while maintaining accurate inventories both physically and systemically.
  • Prepares expired and/or obsolete inventory for destruction.
  • Receives and inspects raw materials, packaging materials, semi-finished and finished products from suppliers, purchase orders or production orders and/or transfers using inventory control and management systems and mechanical equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, electric and manual pallet jacks, etc., as well as auxiliary materials for the operation, respecting accurate real-time data entry into SAP.
  • Performs accurate real-time data entry into SAP to receive inventory items and capture inventory related transactions; ensure adherence to First Expiry–First Out (FEFO) policy, expired materials receive proper attention, and requesting departments are properly debited for materials as directed by supervisor or SR Technician.
  • Identifies by affixing labels, all the materials and products received, perform the proper packaging of each pallet, box or shipping vessel or container, and perform the delivery of materials to the corresponding warehouse. Service Quality requirements for sampling (request for materials to be sampled).
  • Orders supporting materials such as additional materials including, but not limited to, labels, packing materials, etc.
  • Prepares and transfers products or materials (shipment to production, export, external warehouse, etc.) from approved inventories to local of intercompany available cost centers or storage locations, including logging and preparing required documentation including signatures, following GDP's.
  • Responsible for Service Quality requirements for sampling (request for materials to be sampled.)
  • Ability to navigate successfully in the SAP system learning all relevant screens applicable to the warehouse position including but not limited to material inventory queries, bin to bin transfers, TO and TR orders and basic data entry adjustments to warehouse inventory. Use of the Barcode Scanners, printers, and label printers.
  • Keeps the work area (all warehouse locations, coolers, freezers) clean and tidy (everything in place) always.
  • Stays trained and current in quality systems (LOS).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED. Three to five years warehouse or relevant manufacturing/production/material handling experience.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of metric system measurement.
  • Communication skills needed to respond to internal quality check and audit findings, and to carry out day-to-day customer service.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP, WCS or similar ERP storage system.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Skilled in operating electric and manual pallet jacks, forklifts, and other order.
  • picking equipment with forklift certification.
  • Written and verbal communication skills and ability to follow procedures.
  • Organized with attention to detail and a teamwork mindset.
  • Basic 5S knowledge preferred.
  • Inventory counting skills.
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds unaided.
  • Yellow belt desirable.
  • Ability to work at least one weekend per month on an "On Call" basis.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
