The Supply Optimization and Inventory Manager is responsible for developing and managing processes to drive on-time release of production batches at all levels to achieve delivery metrics for PSL, CSL, and Operations back-orders. This individual will proactively work cross- functionally with supply chain, production, quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory teams to optimize the delivery performance and throughput times for the St Joseph site. This position will also have responsibility as the Operations Planning key user for all production BOM and master recipes updates to SAP in collaboration with supply chain, production, quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory teams as necessary.
The Supply Optimization and Inventory Manager is also responsible for the integrity of inventory for finished goods, raw materials, intermediate and components, and supporting systems for the applicable warehouses including 3rd party inventory. The incumbent will lead inventory cycle counting administration as well as provide direct project management and technical support for all areas while also supporting domestic and international finished goods distribution. This position is responsible for creating, tracking, and reporting of relevant analytics and KPIs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and leads an integrated and streamlined process for batch release tracking at all levels of inventory. Must be able to identify potential supply risks, establish priorities, and be able to effectively negotiate and influence others to meet these priorities.
- Leads and gives guidance for all materials bringing transparency for stocks, slow no movement, destruction trends and analysis.
- Performs the role of Operations planning key user.
- Responsible to lead and manage the process for creating and updating production related BOMs, recipes, and production versions in SAP. This is generally done through the change control process in collaboration and cross-functional alignment with quality, production, and regulatory management as necessary.
- Leads routine, in-depth analysis for final serial release with the expectation to meet inspection lot end dates and customer order due dates. This is done through cross-functional tracking and review.
- Establishes specific improvement goals for teams to achieve.
- Leads routine, in-depth batch analysis for in-process materials from production to release with the expectation to meet inspection lot end dates and expedite when necessary. This is done through cross-functional tracking and review.

- Collaborates with quality, production, and regulatory management to ensure accuracy and alignment of system master data and cGMP documentation. Action items can be identified through formal change control process or ad hoc review.
- Supports the integrity of inventory accuracy for the Site within supply chain by following established SAP inventory transaction processes to support financial and business strategies and objectives. This includes the balancing of the Warehouse Management and Inventory (Financial) Management modules in SAP and root cause analysis of reconciliations.
- Participates in large departmental or cross functional projects pertaining to material flow and supporting SAP system support.
- Provides key user support for relevant SAP updates, site training for cross stream functions and transactional system support.
- Identifies & supports potential technology and process improvement opportunities to improve Agility and efficiency in anticipation of evolving business requirements.
- Leads a team in the completion of departmental initiatives that align and support the company's overall strategy.
- Acts as a back-up to direct reports to assure consistent operations of routine and critical functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- In addition to degree, a minimum of six (6) years of Supply Chain experience in a cGMP or similar manufacturing environment.
- Minimum experience must include leading people and/or moderate to complex projects.
In addition to relevant degree and experience, incumbent must have:
- APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification (Preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead directly and indirectly in a highly dynamic environment.
- General knowledge of GxP requirements.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate effectively with all levels of Operations.
