SR AD, BPE Network Manager

Description

The basic purpose of this role is to drive continuous improvements/quality culture throughout the network. Responsible to ensure continuous improvement priorities align with short-term and long-term business strategic objectives. This role will implement BPE/LEAN manufacturing elements to drive transformational change in the sites/network. The network includes multiple manufacturing sites with a diverse product portfolio. Decisions and recommendations directly affect the supply of AH products globally, having an overall impact on the success of BI globally. Decisions directly impact the ability of the network to operate. Effectiveness of function assures no interruption of product supply due to regulatory non-conformance. The product portfolio of the network is unique regarding complexity. The combination of regulatory, complex technologies, and dynamic production environments result in a complex business/operational model with multiple competing factors to be balanced. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drives the network process improvement priorities align with business strategy.
  • Monitors and drives priority process improvement projects related to the network's key strategy/business plan(s), financials, Regulatory needs, and established BI processes and practices.
  • Drives the BPE teams to overall success of network.
  • Adds value by supporting best practice bench marking, providing insights/tools, suggesting alternatives, removing obstacles, and overall advancing the continuous improvement priority projects.
  • Drives tier discussions to implement operational performance metrics within the network and local site leadership teams to ensure progress towards monthly/yearly targets that drive operational performance.
  • Interacts with site leaders (and site leadership teams) and network managers related to metric discussions and strategy sessions.
  • Drives the identification and implementation of corrective actions for metrics not achieving targets.
  • Acts as “Champion of Root Cause Analysis” looking to fully solve issues by identifying and implementing sustainable/preventative action plans.
  • Drives the sites in the network to have a clear problem solving (root cause analysis) strategy through collaboration and partnership with the local and global leaders.
  • Acts as “Quality Culture Champion” looking to promote a WINNING MINDSET that is consistent with the global/network strategies through identification of applicable process improvement approaches that are sensitive to the diverse needs of the region, the portfolio, sites, business units, customers, and our employees.
  • Effectively drives utilization of BPE tools, resources, and developing skills required to advance the network's BPE teams and long-term network supply resilience.
  • As member of GLobal BPE team, directly reports to Global Business Manager and indirectly aligns with Network Manager (and/or GSLT member).
  • Broad interaction requirements ranging from site leaders, local BPE, consultants to internal inter-department colleagues.
  • Strong interfaces within Operations globally and locally, as well as Quality, BPDI, EHS, PTS, Purchasing, R&D, global and local Marketing.
  • Provides indirect leadership to a community of BPE leads globally. Indirect impact on global Animal Health revenue.
  • Drives teams to ensure that they are in the best position to succeed, add value, and advance by leading, supporting, coaching, suggesting alternatives, providing insight, and removing obstacles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, sciences, and/or Engineering from accredited school with ten (10) years’ experience or a Master’s Degree with seven (7) years’ experience.
  • In addition to degree, incumbent is recommended to have multiple years’ experience in process improvement, LEAN manufacturing, BPE and/or equivalent.
  • Experience must be inclusive of 3 years leading people, large teams, and complex projects.
  • Lean six sigma certification and/or Black Belt certification recommended.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management software.
  • Ability to be creative and innovative to develop potential resolutions to project obstacles.
  • Experience applying, teaching, and coaching Continuous Improvement (LEAN, Six Sigma, project management) techniques in a bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing and business environment preferred.
  • Shares expertise in a state-of-the-art pharma and vaccine manufacturing facilities.
  • Good understand and experience related to safety, quality, operational procedures, cGmp’s and company policies/procedures required.
  • Requires a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Recommended to have extensive experience with teaching/coaching related to establishing a culture of continuous improvement within Pharm/Bio-Pharma facilities (LEAN Six Sigma, change-management, and Kaizen events, etc.).
